UCA This name was born hot off the presses when discussing the so-called Italian “graffiti question” in 2008, concerning all those Italian no profit entities mostly active on urban creativity project and featuring in their staff a significant presence of urban creativity experts, which may find in these associations an useful tool for their projects and to implement a fruitful dialogue with institutions and policymakers. Their institutional and organizational form, the results achieved and an inclusive trend towards younger generations, allowed the UCAs to build a nationwide network of young urban creativity experts, featuring hundreds of participants. On December 31, 2012, 40 UCAs are acknowledged in Italy, in 15 different regions. Having been built between 2000 and 2017, their network represents a global unicum . In particular, the UCAs involved in the Do The Writing! campaign are enrolled in the Italian UCAs register and their Presidents worked to shape the specific valorization proposals for the Technical Table on Urban Creativity . |
